Bob McClellan Memorial Fishing Tournament 560 Alder Lake Road, Manitowish Waters, WI 54545 For Immediate Release: April 14, 2011 Win Money Having Fun Fishing for a Cause Manitowish Waters, Wis. – The 6th Annual Bob McClellan Memorial Fishing Tournament will be held on June 11, 2011 from 8am to 4pm. Registration is located at Bear Country Builders, 5185 Hwy 51S, Manitowish Waters. Check in will be 6am to 8am and fish registration is from 4pm to 5pm, fish must be registered by 5pm to be eligible for prizes. There will be cash prizes for the 5 largest Walleye and best weight of walleyes per boat. There is also a Kid’s Category (children under 14 years of age), for the Largest Walleye with cash prizes. Participants are allowed to fish Vilas and Iron County Waters. This is an open invitational and all are welcome to participate. Entry fee is $150 per boat with a maximum of 4 people per boat. There are two divisions, a Sportsman Division and a Pro Open Division (guides license required). Each participant receives a T-Shirt and raffle ticket with paid entry. There will be an awards ceremony, raffles and food at 5pm located at the Rustic Roadhaus, 5198 Hwy 51 S, Manitowish Waters, WI. This is a fundraising event with part of the proceeds going to the Bob McClellan Memorial Scholarship Fund that is given to high school students that attended North Lakeland Elementary School and are graduating from Lakeland Union High School. Other portions of the proceeds will benefit families facing financial hardships in the Lakeland Area. The tournament was started in 2006 and since then the Bob McClellan Memorial Fishing Tournament has given over $17,000 to area families who are in need of assistance, monies to Camp Jorn to teach their campers the joys of fishing and fun of the Northwoods, fishing equipment donated to the North Lakeland Discovery Center to encourage youth to fish, as well as $5,700 in scholarships to North Lakeland Elementary alumni. Bob McClellan was a fishing guide based out of Manitowish Waters, WI for over 20 years, who passed away suddenly on April 16, 2006. His passion for the Northwoods and fishing was shared with anyone who stepped into his boat and his life. He loved to share his knowledge and skills with kids of all ages.
